Service Description

Bring your creativity to life with this 10 week long course in 3D modeling and FDM 3D printing. Class is from 4pm to 5pm. Students spend time learning about 3D printing and how it works, printing objects to take home each week and have help to develop their 3D models for printing in future weeks. Students also learn how the different parts of 3D printers work and basic hardware skills around performing maintenance on a 3D printer to support future 3D printing goals. These classes are delivered by our qualified and experienced Digital Technologies teacher Daniel. Having a background working with students with diverse learning needs and having Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, and ADHD himself, Daniel is great at working with kids who don't always fit the typical mainstream education mold and working with them to bring learning into hands on experiences. Our class sizes are small and every student has a computer and 3D printer of their own to work with as we are great believers in every student getting hands on with the learning materials and being able to bring their ideas to life. We also embed our lessons with underlying digital technology skills like computational thinking, problem solving, and exploring new software to see what you can do with it. Each of our student computer stations is a gaming desktop computer running dual screens so that students can work on their designs while being able to have reference images up on the second screen. Headphones are also available at each station so students can listen to music while they bring their art to life. Parents or family members are welcome to book in to learn alongside their kids, we love encouraging lifelong learning and learning with family as its something special to learn alongside your kids or alongside your parents/aunt etc. Age is 10 plus. Kids under 10 are welcome if they are with a paying parent or older family member who can help support them as 3D printers having moving parts and hot parts. While we do what we can to provide a safe learning environment, by enrolling you acknowledge that you understand that their are safety risks around 3D printing due to its nature and that Dragoncove3D and its tutors are not responsible for any injury or accident. If you have any questions about the safety please contact us. Safe practices will be covered in lessons to minimize risks.
